Boise police issue safety reminders ahead of Bronco's home opener; free shuttle service available fo
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Boise State Bronco's home opener is this weekend against UCF. With home games about to begin, the Boise Police have a few helpful reminders for fans to make gameday fun for everyone.
- Do not drink and drive.
- Park safely and legally. Those who ignore parking laws or signs jeopardize safety and risk getting a ticket or being towed.
- If fans are going to drink alcohol, do so in designated areas. The 10 to 10 Zone remains in effect for home games.
- For public safety, open containers of alcohol are not allowed in public areas outside the 10-to-10 Zone, including parking lots and neighborhood streets. Officers are checking for adults who provide alcohol to minors and for underage drinking.
- Be good neighbors - use crosswalks, throw away litter, and respect the safety and cleanliness of homes and businesses in the BSU area.
- To help ensure everyone can safely and quickly enter the stadium, please remember to leave your bags at home. Boise State has a clear bag policy.
The "10-to-10 Zone" runs from Broadway and Myrtle south to the corner of Broadway and Beacon and west to Capitol Boulevard.
The Zone weaves through the BSU campus area before meeting with University Drive, then back north on Capitol to Caesar Chavez Lane to the Friendship Bridge north into Julia Davis Park. The Zone remains south of Julia Davis Pond and east of Zoo Boise. See below for an exact map.
The 10-to-10 Zone is an area off-campus where people age 21 and over may consume alcoholic beverages from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Boise State home football game days only. Alcohol is only allowed in opaque plastic cups within the Zone. No glass containers, beer cans, or liquor bottles with labeling are permitted.
VRT is offering a free shuttle service on BSU game days. The shuttles start 2 hours before kickoff and run until one hour after the game ends. Shuttle pickup sites include 11th and Main, Main and 8th, Idaho and 6th, Main and Capitol, Front and 9th and more. For a complete list and more information, clickHERE.
