Burning the Firebrand, Assassin's Creed Valhalla Quest

1. Search Jorvik's archives

Visit the archives...

...and examine the piece of paper lying on one of the tables.

After you do this, Audun and Abbess Ingeborg will appear. After talking with them you will come to the conclusion that the next place you should visit is the rectory.

2. Explore the rectory

Note: If you know where the bishop lives then you can skip this step entirely and go there directly.

Go to the rectory. To enter the house on the left you need to go to its back, move the rack to uncover the window and then shoot the door lock through it.

The priest you meet inside will be very frightened and will mention the Red Hand. He will tell you about another priest who locked himself in the neighboring building. You will also receive a clue - "The other priest's house has a weak roof".

Climb onto the roof of the neighboring building, destroy the reed wall, and enter through the created opening. Talk to the priest you meet there.

You will learn from him where the bishop went.

3. Find and confront the Bishop

Follow the priest. He will lead you to the building where the bishop lives. Move the rack blocking the entrance and go inside.

4. Investigate the Bishop's quarters

Examine the burned scrolls.

Examine the small crucifix lying on the floor.

Carry the bishop's dead body and read the letter hidden under it.

5. Infiltrate the Minster

Head to the Minster. The surrounding area will be watched over by Red Hand, so it's best to get there by walking across ropes and rooftops. You can get inside the church through one of the windows...

... or you can climb up one of the towers and go inside through the hole you will find there.

Once inside, go down the stairs and enter the main room. When you do this you will witness as Ingeborg aka The Firebrand, orders all the scrolls to be burned. Then she will leave the church.

6. Identify and assassinate the Firebrand

You must now find the real Ingeborg and kill her. There will be three markers on the map which will move, but after some time they should stop at certain places. I am not sure, but I think that the real Ingeborg always goes to the same place marked on the picture below.

Also, the real Ingerborg has no nickname...

...and the fake ones have a yellow nickname and a question mark at the end.

7. (Optional) Return to Ljufvina

If you completed this quest before completing quest "Pricking the Needle", then you will have to return to the royal hall and inform Ljufvina that you have completed the first part of your task. Otherwise, quest "Closing The Vault" will begin immediately.
