Caldwell Police escort Idaho Olympian to the airport, joins Team USA in Colorado

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — 20-year-old Alyssa Mendoza from Caldwell left early Friday morning for Olympic training, escorted by Police and Fire from Caldwell to send her off.
Mendoza is the first Idahoan to officially qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Mendoza will compete as a featherweight boxer as the Olympics return to Paris for the first time since 1924. She heads to Colorado to train with Team USA, then off to Germany for more training and to acclimate ahead of the Olympic Games.
