Dale Earnhardt Jr. celebrates his nephews Tulsa Shootout race win

Publish date: 2024-07-02

The Earnhardt family is one of the most accomplished and respected racing families in the world. Starting with seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt, the family has a legacy that few can match. The family might now have a racing prodigy at their hand who could expand their legacy.

Dale Sr’s grandson, Wyatt Miller, made headlines after winning the Tulsa Shootout Restricted A Class race, overcoming the challenge from over 130 racers. He is the son of Kelly Earnhardt Miller, the daughter of Dale Sr. He won the race comfortably, leading all 20 laps, and barring a mid-race drama, it was an easy job for the third-generation race.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., the two-time Xfinity series-winning son of Dale Sr., took it to social media to celebrate his nephew’s win. He congratulated Wyatt on the win and also thanked his sponsors for their support. He also praised FloRacing for the impressive coverage of the event.

Congrats to nephew Wyatt Miller! Big win with CB Industries, Brandt Rick and Bass Pro Shops at the Tulsa Shootout. Great coverage, FloRacing.

The win wasn’t easy for Wyatt Miller

While leading all the laps to the finish line seemed easy, it wasn’t, as the 13-year-old faced stiff competition. The major challenge for Chad Boat Industries’ driver was another teenager named Jett Nunley, who had an incident with the young Earnhardt.

No, I definitely did not think it was easy. Jet Nunley was outside of me, behind me, and people everywhere. But we had a really good car. I want to think Chad Boat Industries, Carlin Mike, and everyone that helps me.

Midway to the race, when Miller was in the lead, Nunley tried to take the top spot, resulting in the younger having a 360 360-degree spin. He damaged his front wing, and his power steering also has some issues. But Nunley was able to recover and finished P3.
