Batista was one of the top WWE Superstars during his tenure in the company. He was one of the Vince McMahon’s golden boys in the WWE. The Animal has had an illustrious career as a wrestler and now is having a successful movie career. Batista started his WWE career in 2000 by admitting himself in the developmental territory OVW and wrestled there until 2002. He then made his main roster debut on SmackDown as an enforcer to D-Von Dudley and his first feud in WWE was against D-Von, which lasted for a short while and ended in 2002 itself.
Batista replaced Mark Jindrak in the stable Evolution for unknown reasons, and his career took off when he joined the Evolution. He held the World Tag Team Championship with Ric Flair at the time and was a natural heel. During their matches, Batista and the other Evolution members used to keep an eye on each other’s backs. During his time in Evolution, Batista dazzled the WWE Universe by portraying himself as a heel. After winning the Royal Rumble in 2005, The Animal began his quest for world championships. He won his first WWE World Championship by defeating Triple H at WrestleMania 21.

Batista and Booker T feuded against each other in 2006
In January 2006, Batista had vacated the World Heavyweight Championship due to an injury but returned to in-ring competition in July at the Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXIII, in a six-man tag match. Thereafter he lost against Mr. Kennedy at the Great American Bash later that year and at the same event Booker T defeated Rey Mysterio to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career.
The Animal then had set his eyes on the World Heavyweight Championship and thereby the feud between Booker and The Animal set into motion. Their match was set for SummerSlam 2006 and Booker T was defeated by The Animal due to disqualification at the event, hence there was no title change. The two then faced each other at No Mercy in a Fatal Four Way match involving Bobby Lashley and Finlay for the World Heavyweight Championship but the title was retained by Booker. Batista Finally defeated King Booker for the World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series 2006.
Batista was known for having an Ego after his rise in 2005, when he won the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time. Booker and Batista were involved in the filming of a commercial before SummerSlam during which they were involved in a verbal spat and physical altercation. It is believed that the fight happened due to the fact that Batista was having an open affair with Melina and the latter was dating John Morrison at the same time. This wasn’t liked by many in the locker room including Booker T.
Booker T recently opened out about his relationship with Batista on the Hall of Fame show, comparing his and Batista’s situation to that of The Miz and Daniel Bryan. He stated that, while Batista was not the person he desired to work with, he was allowed to do so due to his role in the Storyline. Booker stated that he enjoys being professional and was solely concerned with getting the job done with Batista. Booker T noted that after their confrontation, he was able to work with Batista much more smoothly, and there was mutual respect between them that wasn’t there before.
“I never talk about the incident between Dave [Batista] and I or anything like that. We were not friends or anything like that, and him and I, we had to work together. He wasn’t a person that I particularly wanted to work with, but I’m a professional, just like [Bryan] Danielson, I’m a professional, I’m going to get the work done and hopefully, that makes some really good TV. I do know after the incident [with Batista], I think we were able to work in the ring a whole lot better, actually. I think things got a lot smoother. Maybe before there wasn’t a respect deal going into our matches, but after I’m sure there was a lot of respect going into that ring.”
The Animal retired from wrestling in 2019 and his last match was against Triple H at WrestleMania 35, which he lost.
