John Jackson Exits Helter Skelter, Opens K2 Agency
Veteran agent John Jackson, named as one of the top 50 most influential figures in the international music industry in a recent Billboard poll, has left Helter Skelter Agency, which he co-founded with Sanctuary's Andy Taylor 18 years ago, to open K2 Agency in London.
Making the move with Jackson are all of his longstanding artists including Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Papa Roach, Slayer and recent acquisitions Glassjaw and The Used, as well as longtime associates Jane Miller and Jan Musk. Additionally, Shania Twain has signed on as K2's first new major artist.
"The dramatic and ongoing changes witnessed over the last few years, which have seen the global corporatisation of a large part of our industry, have created a landscape worldwide which opens up extraordinary opportunities
and possibilities," says Jackson. "I felt the time was right to step out and explore these. I leave behind many good friends and colleagues but know that it is in
capable hands.
"Why K2? Well, because it is the hardest summit in the world to reach."
