Kysre Gondrezicks Family Puts A Bounty On Rockets' Kevin Porter Jr.
Kysre Gondrezick’s family essentially put a bounty on Kevin Porter Jr. this week after he was arrested for allegedly assaulting her.
According to prosecutors, the Houston Rockets star now faces felony assault and strangulation charges relating to hotel room incident that occurred on Monday in New York.
The alleged attack left Kysre “with a fractured neck vertebra and a cut above her right eye,” ESPN reported on Tuesday.
“This is a serious domestic violence case,” Assistant Manhattan District Attorney Mirah Curzer added during a court appearance. Porter was subsequently accused of having “a history of abusing Gondrezick, including an incident in which he rammed his car into hers.”
Porter appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, but that didn’t do much to quell the animosity Kysre’s family felt in the aftermath.
Shortly after the arrest Kysre’s sister and the widow of former NFL star Dwayne Haskins, Kalabrya, essentially put a greenlight on Porter.
It’s not hard to read between the lines there. Kalabrya is basically inviting people to go after Porter on sight over what he did to her sister.
In light of what Kalabrya at one point stood accused of doing to her husband after some cheating rumors began to circulate, folks at home understandably had strong reactions.
That man is toast 😅

Kalabrya’s rage makes sense. Kysre reportedly told the authorities that “Porter punched her repeatedly in the face with a closed fist, cutting her above the right eye and causing bruising and substantial pain to her face.”
She then added that he “also forcefully squeezed her neck with his hands, causing her difficulty breathing, redness and bruising to her neck.”
According to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, this incident could lead to Porter being booted from the league altogether.
“The league has launched an investigation, and they will handle it in the near-term,” he said.
“The Houston Rockets, by the by-laws, they can’t suspend or waive him while this investigation is going on. But Adam Silver could put Porter on administrative leave. There’s no question that Kevin Porter Jr.’s future, not just with the Rockets but in the NBA, is very much in peril. These are extremely serious allegations.”
It doesn’t help that Porter has a long history of getting into trouble.
“Going back a number of years to USC, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Houston Rockets, problems have followed him,” Wojnarowski added.
“Cleveland drafted him late in the first round and essentially gave up on him. His contract with Houston was a very team-friendly deal with non-guaranteed money after the first year.”
It will be interesting to see where this case goes from here.
In week of hoops that has seen Rajon Rondo address his beef with Chris Paul, LSU star Hailey Van Lith’s wild photos go viral and Donovan Mitchell’s crazy birthday party, this story hangs over the sport of basketball like a dark cloud.

With a lot of legal happenings still left to occur, many more details involving Kysre and Porter will continue to emerge.
Given how things are going, though – it wouldn’t be all that shocking to see Kysre’s family dispatch their own brand of justice to Porter before the legal system ultimately does.
