Randy Ortons uncle Barry Orton passes away

Randall Barry Orton, known as Barry Orton to the wrestling fans, passed away at the age of 62. The former actor and professional wrestler is the uncle of WWE Superstar Randy Orton and the son of wrestling legend Bob Orton.

Barry was born in Amarillo, Texas and started his training as a professional wrestler at a very young age. He was trained by his elder brother, Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. and his father, Bob Orton. Being from the legendary Orton family, he started his professional wrestling career at an early age in 1976. Barry’s career spanned for 16 long years, before he announced his retirement in 1992.

Barry Orton wrestled under a variety of names like Berry Orton, Barry O, and Superstar Barry O. he even played the character of the masked Zodiac, a character which even his father played for a short while. He had worked for multiple wrestling promotions and had found immense success as a tag team wrestler.

Barry Orton was vocal about issues in the pro wrestling industry

Orton had become a fairly controversial figure in the final years of his career. He was very open about the issues in the pro wrestling industry.

Orton had revealed that he was sexually harassed by Terry Garvin. He worked in Talent Relations alongside Pat Patterson in WWF. The revelations led to Barry making several appearances in talks shows like Larry King, Phil Donahue and Geraldo Rivera.

These revelations led to several confrontations with Vince McMahon, which ultimately became the reason for Orton’s early retirement at the early age of 33.

The cause of death is still unknown. His nephew, Randy Orton has been liking a few posts honoring Barry Orton on Twitter. Our thoughts go out to the Orton family during this hard time.
