DALLAS, TX (CelebrityAccess) — A Dallas rapper was briefly hospitalized after he was targeted in an apparent assassination attempt while on a local highway.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Police state that Deandre Conway, who performs under the name Yella Beezy, was driving on the Sam Rayburn Tollway early Sunday when he was fired on more than a dozen times by someone in a vehicle that pulled up next to him.

Police told the Morning News that Conway was struck three times and taken to a nearby hospital before being released on Monday.

A police spokesman said no arrests have been made and police have not determined a possible motivation for the attack.

Beezy’s hit “That’s On Me” has been gaining traction the Billboard charts after being picked up by local radio.

He also gained recognition when he opened for Beyonce and Jay-Z during the couple’s Arlington performance of their On The Run II tour in September.
